Governor Eric J. Holcomb and INDOT Commissioner Joe McGuinness announced today that the final two of five construction contracts to build the I-69 Finish Line project between Martinsville and Indianapolis have been awarded.
Get ready for a big traffic change on State Road 37 north of Martinsville as soon as this Saturday, Jan. 23. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction and shift to the northbound side of the highway from Morgan Street to S.R. 144. The S.R. 37 restrictions will be in place for most of this year.
MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. (April 8, 2020) — Waverly Road access to and from State Road 37 will permanently close on or after Tuesday, April 14. The official detour for local traffic will follow Big Bend Road and Old S.R. 37. The full closure will allow crews to begin earthwork on the approaches to the new Waverly Road overpass.

MARTINSVILLE, Ind. (Nov. 1, 2019) — Drivers should slow down, stay alert and avoid distractions as traffic adjusts to lane shifts on State Road 37 beginning tomorrow, Nov. 2. Contractors will be removing a large pipe under S.R. 37 in the overpass construction zone near Martinsville High School and Grand Valley Boulevard businesses. The lane shifts are expected to occur over about one week.

MARTINSVILLE, Ind. (Sept. 5, 2019) — Milestone Contractors will close the intersection of South Street and Home Avenue in Martinsville on or after Monday, September 9, for work to take place to connect the existing roadway to the new South Street bridge. The intersection is expected to reopen by late October or early November. Local access to the area will be maintained via Crawford Street.
