MARTINSVILLE (May 26, 2020) – Shoppers should watch for flaggers and short traffic delays this week on Grand Valley Boulevard in Martinsville from Walmart to the new bridge over State Road 37. Paving crews are scheduled to lay the surface layer as weather allows starting Tuesday, May 27.

In addition, Duke Energy and its contractors plan overnight road closures to remove and install electric wires across S.R. 37 and S.R. 252. Closures are expected early Tuesday and Wednesday mornings between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m., weather permitting, and will last 20-30 minutes each.

Northbound S.R. 37 traffic will be stopped at Ohio Street and southbound S.R. 37 traffic will be held at S.R. 252/Hospital Drive. Access to the hospital will be maintained for emergency services. There will also be traffic stoppages near the intersection of S.R. 252 and Cramertown Loop. Law enforcement will assist with the temporary closures and maintaining traffic between the closures.
