MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. (Nov. 12, 2020) – A temporary traffic signal is scheduled to be turned on Friday afternoon at State Road 37 and Henderson Ford Road. The temporary signal will more safely allow increased local traffic to enter and exit S.R. 37 at this location.

Drivers should watch for temporary lane closures as traffic crews install signal equipment and pavement markings. Once the signal is activated, motorists should pay attention to the new rumble strips on S.R. 37, slow down and stay alert as they adjust to the new traffic pattern.

Perry Road bridge to open, detour routes to close
The new bridge over S.R. 37 connecting Perry Road with Old S.R. 37 is expected to open to traffic by Saturday.

After this new connection is made, Lincoln Road and Cragen Road access to S.R. 37 will close permanently. These intersections served as detour routes during construction of the bridge at Perry Road.

Local traffic can continue to access S.R. 37 at Ennis Road and Henderson Ford Road to the south and Banta Road and S.R. 144 to the north. A new access road is under construction connecting New Harmony Road at Cragen Road with Ennis Road at S.R. 37.
