MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. (Oct. 13, 2020) – Some access roads are closing as new connections are made along the I-69 Finish Line corridor. Access to S.R. 37 from Old State Road 37, Big Bend Road and Whiteland Road will be closed on or after Monday, Oct. 19 north of Martinsville.

A temporary traffic signal will be activated on or after Wednesday, Oct. 14 to assist traffic entering and exiting S.R. 37 at Banta Road, just south of S.R. 144.

Drivers should slow down and stay alert as they adjust to the new traffic patterns. For the safety of both motorists and highway workers, police are enforcing a reduced speed limit of 45 MPH on S.R. 37 from Martinsville to Waverly Road.

These access closures are part of final preparations to open nearby bridges over S.R. 37 at Egbert, Perry and Waverly roads. The new bridges are on track to open by mid-November. Extensions of Morgan Street, New Harmony Road and Whiteland Road are being built to connect local traffic with the new bridges.
